Time for a new chair

I spend my days on my butt. I'm a software engineer, or more correctly, I manage a department of software engineers and we all sit on our butts all day long. While the computer may be the most important tool for my job, the second most important is my chair. So why is it that we tend to spend less than $100 for such a critical part of our job?

This week my chair went to the dumpster after the base snapped in half, dumping me to the floor. It lasted only three years but the seat cushion was flat after two. My back had been bothering me for months so I started looking for alternatives before the chair broke. Now I have a mission - find a new chair.
